Today I had a dream. A wonderful one. And it was about you. You and I were holding hands while sitting on a little bench. People passing by, the sun setting its light, colouring everything in a soft golden tone. “This feels good.” is all you said while a tiny hint of a smile fluttered around your lips. Relief took over your facial features, like you finally found something you unconsciously always searched for. The wind stroke our skin, leaving cold traces of comfort at its touch. This was everything I ever wanted. And I never felt happier before.
In this fragment of a moment, peace and love found its place in the world. Coldness and warmth ruled my body in equal shares. You could offer me infinity consisting of only these seconds and I wouldn’t say no. Just to keep your fingers tangled in mine, giving little squeezes of tenderness and devotion now and then. Leaning my head on your shoulder, while your jacket quietly wrinkles as I’m coming home and finally closing my eyes.-
There’s this bitter taste, this bright blindness overflowing me with dissappointment: feeling this empty heavieness in my hand, wincing and receiving no reaction, waking up and finding you nowhere close to me.
Realising that this dream, in the end, was a nightmare.
